the problem with doing multiple posts is that you have to scroll down to read the first one...oh well so mom, dad, jay and matt got into atl around 8 last tuesday night and we headed out to dinner at kobi one...love that place! after dinner we just hung out and headed to bed. the next morning i got up to find that nick's flight was canceled and mom had been working with him to find a new flight. he did find out and after breakfast (and a run to starbucks with dad) mom and i headed to the grocery store to pick up the dry foods and dad and caleb went and got nick. we ate lunch and then headed out. i think we got to the cabin just around 4 pm and man it was huge. after unpacking the cars and claiming bedrooms mom, dad, jay and matt headed to get the rest of the food from the store and nick, caleb and i watched the queen...good movie but i wonder how accurate it is. wed night we had grilled hamburgers (yummy) and watched old home videos...
thursday we got up and hung out for the morning...jay had gone fishing and dad got stung by a bee or something that stings twice trying to figure out where he had gone and his foot swelled pretty bad. after lunch we went to figure out where things were in town and get dad some more medicine. we found Blue Ridge Lake and Dam, where to rent boats, among other things. when we got back the boys all wanted to fish so we went down to the river and hung out...it was cold but not too bad. i made some yummy pork chops for dinner and we watched some more home videos.
friday was interesting. jay and matt went fishing (and ended up totally soaked from going up and down the river). after lunch dad wanted to go to a winery and we had a little miss communication about when they were open and what time we needed to pick up some packages that i had had shipped up there (basically the cabin is new and not on any maps so ups had to leave the package at a business and we had to pick it up b/c they couldn't find us). so we left way too late to actually tour the winery but we got to see some of dahlonega and get some tea and a caramel cake from the picnic cafe and think of cherise :) we also took a really really really long windy road there and it took forever. the way home caleb and i got to point out burts pumpkin farm and hillcrest orchard where we get apples and pumpkins in the fall (we took a different road back). we played monopoly while mom made lasagna and watched the last mimzy...not at all what i remembered from previews and a little weird...should have watched the prestige which was really really good!
ok i'm tired of typing for now so i'll write more later :)
