what a day

ok so we went to bed last night after midnight and YEA FOR FSU'S WIN!!!!! Then we were up at 6 to get to the airport. I knew it was too good to be true when there was no one in line this morning to check in bags and then there was only two people ahead of us at security. I thought, man this is too easy. On top of it all both of my brother's flights took off a head of time yesterday. Well we get to the gate, relax and then board. I was thinking wow this is amazing. Well we push back from the gate and then sit there for 20 min or so. At this point I start to think, ummmm somethings wrong and of course it was. They came on the loud speaker and told us one of the ignition switches isn't working and we will have to deplane while the fix it....groans everywhere. Well they also tell us it will take 20 min to get the crew there and then they will give us an estimate....

so we deplane and wait....and wait....and wait...then they tell us it will be a little while, prob about an hour and a half so we decide ok that isn't awful, we still should have taken the later flight but we weren't in bad spirits and so we decided to finish the rest of Rorouni Kenshin....btw great series, right up there with escaflowne but deff not the same as the manga when it comes to the ending, in fact the dvd's ending is pretty lame to be honest. oh well. after that we decided to wait for a bit and see how long the wait was before starting a dvd, well we should have just started one b/c then they were like, oh they just gave us an update (mind you this is a good hour + later) and it will take around 1.5 hours as they have to get the part from ft lauderdale. (more groans).

So we sit and wait and wait and wait again. Finally they tell us oh it shouldn't be more than another hour and for your compensation we are giving out comment cards, $10 for food and $25 off your next flight. Well mom and dad gave us money for food so we would have liked much more to get a free flight. well $10 for food and $25 off a flight isn't bad, you take what you can get.

so around 12:30 - 12:45 we board and finally take off....almost 5 hours later. The moral of this story is that when they have you deplane for machanical problems, just go ahead and spend the $10 on the internet so that you can work/play until the plane takes off...needless to say we got home around 5 ish and are trying to unpack and unwind...well and Caleb is enjoying his newly purchesed 6 month subscription to world of warcraft which he kindly took a break from all last month :)

What's so amazing in that story is that Caleb took a month off!
